Passing thought. There are reports all over the news about dangers of staring at the eclipse today. They are also promoting safety goggles. This is no different than COVID and how masks and vaccines would be safe and protect us. My thinking is I’m not looking at any sun or moon today.

The difference is that the sun has been around for billions of years and we have had other eclipses that have blinded the dumb. Also you can really start a fire with a magnify glass.and the sun so looming directly at by LOGIC says it is bad..
Oh yeah I agree with your historical perspective on this. As a kid we heard those stories and the reporting sounded correct.
