On Saturday I was walking into Newtown Farmers market when this woman with dyed blue hair stopped me and asked me if I would sign a petition for RFK Jr to be put on the ballot.

you think you are being a good citizen by signing so that everyone can get ballot access. This is what will happen. The Newtown republicans will get one of their group to contest the ballot signatures. They will hire a democratic lawyer like Marc Elies to contest the signatures as being invalid. Then the candidate looking for access will need to prove that all of the signatures are valid. they will contest them for little or no reason at all and it will be the responsibility of the person seeking access to prove that all of the signatures are correct. So when the person thinking they need 1000 signatures will usually get 1200 to 1300. due to technicalities many of these will be disqualified. So it comes down to a struggle to show enough signatures. here is the rub if you are not able to prove the exact # and fall short of the required amount not only will you have to pay for your legal representation. But you will need to pay for their high price law firms also. Along with judge shopping and switching most people just drop out in lieu of not having to pay the other sides overpriced lawyers. This is all to keep small people from having their voices heard.
